Eighth edition of the Corales Puntacana Championship PGA Tour Event is presented

Punta Cana — With a purse of US$4 million valid for 300 FedExCup points, the highest in the history of Dominican sports, and the participation of 132 players from 20 countries and five continents, Puntacana Resort announces the 8th edition of the Corales Puntacana Championship PGA Tour Event, to be held at the Corales golf course, from April 14 to 20, 2025.

The information was offered in a meeting with Puntacana Group executives, such as Manuel Sajour, executive director of Grupo Puntacana’s marketing and director of the Corales Puntacana Championship; Enrique Valverde, president of the Dominican Golf Federation (Fedogolf); and Hiram Silfa, director of golf courses at Puntacana Resort.

“The Corales Puntacana Championship has become a flagship event for Puntacana Resort. It fills us with joy and pride to continue the tradition of celebrating a unique sporting event in the country, which also promotes the Dominican Republic and Punta Cana worldwide as a leading golf destination in the Caribbean,” said Sajour.

Meanwhile, the president of Fedogolf, said that “as the regulatory body of golf in the Dominican Republic, we recognize the importance it represents for the international projection of sports tourism in the country and for the entire local golfing community, to have for the 8th consecutive year the Corales Puntacana Championship PGA Tour Event, the main golf event in the country”.

At the moment, past tournament champions Chad Ramey (2022), Joel Dahmen (2021), and Brice Garnett (2018) have confirmed their attendance, as has Nate Lashley, winner of the Korn Ferry Tour in 2017. Likewise, renowned players Charley Hoffman, winner of five PGA Tour victories and former director of the PGA Tour Players Advisory Council, Justin Lower, Ben Martin, and Emiliano Grillo, ambassador of Puntacana Resort, will participate.

Latin American participation will be represented by players Fabián Gómez from Argentina, Puerto Rican Rafa Campos, and Chilean Cristóbal del Solar, to name a few. Meanwhile, Dominican talent will be represented by players who qualify through the Canita Tour.

The tournament has a reach of 7 billion digital impressions distributed as follows: 63 million in digital video reach, 585 million in social media reach, 7 million viewers in North America and 4 million in Europe, and 10.7 million visits to the official app and website.

Live Broadcast
The event will be broadcast live on Golf Channel on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18 from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20 from 3:00 p.m. – 5: 00 p.m. Locally and as Media Partners, CDN Deportes will be broadcasting from the Corales golf course capturing the incidents of the event. On Sunday, April 20, they will broadcast the awards ceremony live at 5:00 p.m. At the same time, Diario Libre will provide special print and digital coverage, and Ritmo Social in magazine and entertainment format.
