San Pedro de Macorís to host “Tourism in Every Corner” cultural showcase
San Pedro de Macorís.- The San Pedro de Macorís boardwalk will host the “Tourism in Every Corner” event on May 31 and June 1, 2025, transforming the area into a vibrant showcase of local culture and tourism. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, this initiative aims to boost regional tourism by highlighting the province’s attractions and uniting all sectors of the community. The event focuses on promoting San Pedro’s rich heritage through ecotourism, gastronomy, crafts, and folklore.
More than 50 exhibitors and 160 local artists and artisans will participate, offering a dynamic agenda of artistic and cultural activities. The initiative also seeks to stimulate the orange economy, positively impacting industries such as transportation, hospitality, agriculture, and commerce.
A highlight of the event will be the launch of the “Explore the Urban Center of San Pedro” Cultural Route, a free tour of key landmarks including the San Pedro Apóstol Cathedral, the local History Museum, Urban Murals, the Baseball Player Museum, and historic Duarte Street. These attractions offer a deep dive into the province’s architectural and cultural legacy, enhancing the visitor experience.

San Pedro is potentially the gem on the tourism crown, very walkable city.needs investment in some dilapidated older buildings. Which look good to repurpose. Love spm
You right about that. I purchased a 3 bedrooms condo just one block from the Malecon and my unit price has gone up by 70% in just 3 years. Hopefully when the hotel Macorix is reopen or a new one is build the area would get more tourists. Juan Dolio is the bread and butter of San Pedro. But, it doesn’t has to be the only area.
