Cabo Rojo and Puerto Plata set to lead Caribbean cruise arrivals in June 2025

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM) announced that the ports of Puerto Plata (Amber Cove and Taino Bay) and Cabo Rojo will headline the June 2025 cruise season, with a total of 26 cruise ship arrivals expected. These destinations are key to the country’s growing appeal in the international cruise market.

Puerto Plata continues to shine as a premier northern cruise stop, set to welcome ships from major lines like Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, and MSC Cruises. At the same time, Cabo Rojo, located in the southwest, is gaining momentum as a rising port and tourism hub, with arrivals from Royal Caribbean and other global carriers.

At $126 per person on taxes, multipled by 4800 in my case, that’s a pretty penny for the country. I only hope that some of that goes to raising the people’s quality of life and the country’s infrastructure, especially power and sewage. I would consider more solar or wind, than anything.
