Collado celebrates expansion of World2Fly flights to the Dominican Republic

Spain.- Tourism Minister David Collado announced that starting this June, World2Fly will increase flights to the Dominican Republic by 18 from Madrid and Portugal, as part of efforts to boost European tourism. During a meeting with Iberostar CEO Sabina Fluxá and World2Meet/World2Fly CEO Gabriel Subías, agreements were finalized to raise weekly flights from Spain to Santo Domingo and La Romana to 14, and add 3 new weekly flights from Portugal to Punta Cana and La Romana, enhancing air connectivity with key European markets.
The meeting also focused on opportunities to further promote the Dominican Republic in Spain, following a successful roadshow with over 250 Spanish travel agents and tour operators, where the country’s attractions were showcased.
Collado emphasized the country’s dedication to expanding strategic market connections and promoting emerging destinations like Miches, Puerto Plata, and Cabarete, known for wind sports. He expressed the importance of Spain as a longstanding ally in tourism, reaffirming the strong ties and mutual benefits of this partnership.
