Collado highlights growth of Chilean tourism to the Dominican Republic
Santiago, Chile.- Tourism Minister David Collado celebrated the growing influx of Chilean tourists to the Dominican Republic, describing Chile as a key strategic market for the Caribbean nation. Speaking in Santiago, Chile, Collado met with over 200 travel agents, tour operators, and media representatives to strengthen partnerships and promote the Dominican destination.
In 2024, nearly 150,000 Chileans visited the Dominican Republic, and projections for the first four months of 2025 already indicate around 50,000 visitors. Collado emphasized the importance of reinforcing alliances with travel industry stakeholders, particularly airlines, to boost connectivity and facilitate greater tourism flow.
The Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) continues efforts to expand air routes and solidify the Dominican Republic’s standing as a leading Caribbean destination for Chilean travelers, as part of a broader push to strengthen ties with South American markets.
