Juan Manuel Martín de Oliva named president of Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster
Santo Domingo.- The Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster (CTSD) has elected Juan Manuel Martín de Oliva, Vice President of Tourism Business at Banco Popular Dominicano, as its new president for the 2025–2027 term. The appointment was made during an assembly held this week in the capital.
With 27 years of experience promoting tourism in the financial sector, Martín de Oliva expressed his commitment to the role, stating that tourism is “a tool for development, inclusion, and national pride.” His key goals include positioning Santo Domingo as the gastronomic capital of the Caribbean, completing the Convention Center, and boosting the city’s profile as a top regional destination. He also announced the creation of strategic committees involving key tourism stakeholders.
Martín de Oliva succeeds Monika Infante Henríquez, whom he praised for her visionary leadership. She highlighted achievements during her term, such as the Turizoneando initiative, the GoSantoDomingo seal, and support for MSMEs in the sector. A naturalized Dominican, Martín de Oliva has played a central role in developing tourism financing and is a recognized speaker and author on hotel investment in the Dominican Republic.
