Dominican Republic stands out at EAA AirVenture 2025

Oshkosh, Wisconsin.-  The Airport Department (DA) and the Ministry of Tourism showcased the Dominican Republic’s appeal as a destination for private aviation during EAA AirVenture 2025, the world’s largest annual aviation fair, held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin from July 21 to 27.

The Dominican stand attracted hundreds of visitors, including pilots and aviation enthusiasts, who sought information on local destinations and the advantages of flying to the country in private aircraft. Charlie Becker, Director of EAA AirVenture, praised the Dominican Republic’s participation, noting it helps raise awareness of its accessibility and potential in the private aviation sector.

A key component of the country’s strategy is the Protocol for Non-Commercial Private Aviation, established under Decree 259-23, which streamlines the reception and dispatch of private aircraft. This initiative, combined with participation in international events, has led to a notable increase in private aviation traffic to the country.

Held annually since 1953, EAA AirVenture attracts more than 600,000 attendees and features around 10,000 aircraft, making it a prime platform for promoting the Dominican Republic as a growing hub for private and non-commercial aviation.
