Arajet becomes 5th largest airline for tourists to the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.- Arajet transported over 531,000 passengers in the first six months of 2025, excluding transit passengers. When including more than 100,000 connecting passengers, the airline moved over 635,000 people, setting a new record for a Dominican airline in a six-month period.
According to the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Dominican airlines carried a total of 624,706 passengers (excluding connections) from January to June 2025, with Arajet accounting for more than 85% of that figure—confirming its market leadership.
Arajet now leads flight activity at Las Américas and Punta Cana International Airports and is ranked as the 5th largest airline globally in terms of tourist arrivals to the Dominican Republic, according to the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR).
Top-performing routes for the airline included Medellín, Bogotá, Miami, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Lima.
Looking ahead, Arajet plans to continue expanding with new routes to Newark, Miami, and San Juan, and upcoming service to Orlando, Boston, Chicago, and Córdoba, Argentina in the final quarter of 2025.
