Frank E. Rainieri: “We see Punta Cana as a magnet for aviation investment.”
Following the announcement of the opening of the first maintenance center in Punta Cana by the international company FL Technics, specializing in aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services, Frank Elías Rainieri, president and CEO of Grupo Puntacana, stated that “in 5 or 10 years, we see Punta Cana as a magnet for aviation-related investments.”
In an interview with Mercado magazine, he stated that the alliance introduces technical competencies, international certifications, and industrial standards that will transform the workforce.
“We are establishing an industry based on aeronautical services, a sector with little representation in the national economy,” he added.
The model includes a partnership with educational institutions, such as Grupo Puntacana’s Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic, to train technicians in aircraft maintenance, avionics, and airport operations.
As part of the strategic alliance, FL Technics, in collaboration with Grupo Puntacana and key educational institutions, will lead the redesign and modernization of technical and professional programs in areas such as aircraft maintenance, avionics, and airport operations.
The focus on education and skills development ensures that the country and region not only benefit from immediate employment opportunities, but also have access to long-term careers in a high-demand global industry.
