FCCA and Dominican Republic sign cruise tourism agreement

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic, through its Ministry of Tourism, has signed a landmark strategic agreement with the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) to boost investment and increase cruise passenger arrivals. The agreement was signed by Tourism Minister David Collado and FCCA President Adam Ceserano, in the presence of President Luis Abinader.

This partnership positions the Dominican Republic among the few countries designated as FCCA regional strategic presidential partners, enhancing its role in the cruise industry. It aims to attract greater investments, expand cruise tourism, and strengthen the country’s competitiveness.

The agreement outlines initiatives such as organizing private meetings with cruise line executives to develop services, products, and local sourcing, as well as creating a national strategy to employ Dominican talent in the cruise sector. It also includes technical evaluations of passenger experiences and access to specialized training through the AQUILA Center for Cruise Excellence.

Furthermore, the Dominican Republic will participate in international promotional campaigns and high-profile FCCA events, including hosting the FCCA Platinum Members Conference in 2026, which will bring top industry leaders to the country.

Valid until December 31, 2026, this alliance solidifies the Dominican Republic’s commitment to growing cruise tourism as a key driver of economic growth, job creation, and international competitiveness.
