Punta Bergantín and Infotep to build hotel training center
Puerto Plata.- The Punta Bergantín Trust and the National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (Infotep) announced the creation of a hotel training center in Villa Montellano, aimed at boosting technical education in hospitality and tourism for the northern region. The initiative seeks to provide residents with specialized skills and job opportunities aligned with the area’s expanding tourism sector through the Punta Bergantín project.
The facility will function as a 12-room hostel managed by students, who will gain hands-on experience supported by Infotep and partner hotel brands. This model will allow graduates to enter the job market with both theoretical and practical training.
Punta Bergantín executive director Andrés Marranzini Grullón confirmed that site preparations will start immediately, while Villa Montellano mayor Héctor Almonte praised the plan for its positive community impact.
