Three new Arajet routes to connect Punta Cana with Argentina

Buenos Aires.- The Argentine government has officially authorized Dominican low-cost carrier Arajet to operate direct flights between Punta Cana and three Argentine cities — Córdoba, Mendoza and Rosario — under Disposition No. 21/2025 published in the country’s Official Gazette.

The move, announced Wednesday, is intended to respond to growing Argentine demand for travel to the Dominican Republic and permits Arajet to fly those routes without routing passengers through Buenos Aires.

Argentina is already one of the Dominican Republic’s top tourist sources: some 163,000 Argentines traveled to the Caribbean nation between January and July 2025, and authorities and industry sources say that number could reach roughly 400,000 by year’s end.

Arajet CEO Víctor Pacheco Méndez told reporters the carrier will double its frequencies between the two countries by year-end. He said Arajet plans 13 weekly frequencies between Punta Cana and Buenos Aires in October, two weekly flights between Santo Domingo and Buenos Aires, and aims ultimately to reach 21 weekly services from Ezeiza while adding frequencies from Córdoba, Rosario and Mendoza.

Founded in 2022, Arajet operates a modern fleet of Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft and has expanded rapidly across the Americas. The company says a large share of passengers on the Argentina–Dominican routes are Argentine travelers, a pattern the new authorizations are expected to reinforce.

Officials and industry analysts said the new direct links should boost tourism flows to regional airports and help diversify inbound routes to one of the Caribbean’s busiest destinations. The Disposition 21/2025 takes effect immediately, clearing the way for Arajet to begin selling and scheduling the newly authorized services.
