Arajet launches direct flights between Chicago and Punta Cana

Chicago.- Arajet CEO Víctor Pacheco and Dominican Republic Minister of Tourism David Collado announced a new strategy to enhance connectivity between Chicago and the Dominican Republic, featuring direct flights to Punta Cana. The announcement took place during a tourism roadshow in Chicago, targeting over 200 travel agents and tour operators.

The airline unveiled the “Fly Chicago” promotion, offering passengers up to 50% off fares booked between August 27–31, 2025, for travel from November 15, 2025, to March 18, 2026. The inaugural flight is set for November 15, with three weekly departures from Punta Cana and connecting flights from O’Hare International Airport, providing over 2,200 weekly seats.

Officials highlighted that the new route will strengthen tourism, cultural exchange, and economic ties between the two destinations, consolidating Arajet as a key player in international travel. The United States remains the Dominican Republic’s main source market, with Chicago contributing more than 138,000 visitors annually.
