David Collado inaugurates street upgrades in Sosúa tourist municipality

Sosúa.-  Tourism Minister David Collado inaugurated the reconstruction of several roads in Sosúa on Sunday, a project valued at nearly RD$96 million aimed at improving local infrastructure in the tourist municipality.

The works included the rehabilitation of Bajada del Tablón, La Gallera, Benigno Lantigua streets, and the Valedor sector circuit, totaling 4.35 kilometers of asphalt concrete roads with sidewalks, curbs, speed bumps, and storm drainage systems. The project also featured vertical and horizontal signage, slope protection, and the reconstruction of culverts and manholes.

Minister Collado emphasized the positive impact of tourism on communities, stating, “We believe in tourism that benefits the people, and these projects reflect that vision.” The initiative was carried out by the Tourism Zone Infrastructure Executive Committee (CEIZTUR) and was attended by local authorities, tourism entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
