Minister Collado launches reconstruction project in Salcedo

Hermanas Mirabal, D.R.- Tourism Minister David Collado has launched the reconstruction of the island on the Manolo Tavárez Justo Highway near Salcedo in Hermanas Mirabal province. The project, managed by the Executive Committee for Infrastructure in Tourist Zones (Ceiztur), will cost over eight million pesos and aims to enhance cultural identity while providing an attractive welcome for residents and visitors.

Minister Collado emphasized the symbolic importance of the initiative, honoring the Mirabal sisters and promoting the province’s culture, history, gastronomy, and natural beauty. He also announced plans to declare Hermanas Mirabal a City Brand and promote it at the Fitur tourism fair in Madrid next January.

The 762.40-square-meter project will feature a modern, colorful design including an esplanade, city signage, street furniture, steps, ramps, landscaping, lighting, garbage disposals, and improved drainage and road signage to enhance pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Collado reiterated his commitment to boosting domestic tourism, creating jobs, and developing communities with tourism potential.
