Arajet expands direct flights to Cartagena

Santo Domingo.- Arajet has consolidated its route between Santo Domingo and Cartagena de Indias with two weekly flights, operating Fridays and Sundays from Las Américas International Airport. The airline aims to make one of Colombia’s most emblematic tourist destinations more accessible to Dominicans, offering both cultural and leisure opportunities.

Tourism exchange between the two countries has shown steady growth. In 2024, 133,619 Dominicans visited Colombia, a 15.4% increase over the previous year. From January to July 2025, arrivals reached 75,395, up 0.9% from the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, the Dominican Republic welcomed 335,819 Colombian travelers in 2024, making Colombia its third-largest source market with 4.7% of total visitors. Surveys show Colombian tourists gave their experience in the Dominican Republic a 4.6 out of 5 satisfaction rating, reflecting a strong willingness to return.
