Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (Adompretur) used its presence at the 29th Caribbean Tourism Exchange (BTC 2025) to firmly commit the sector’s communicators to promoting sustainable tourism. The BTC, a prominent three-day trade show that kicked off on Thursday, has positioned Santo Domingo as a central business hub for the region.
Adompretur President Sarah Hernández formally inaugurated the association’s stand, asserting that their participation was a direct demonstration of support for the fair and a commitment to the responsible development of the Dominican Republic brand.
“Our presence here reflects our firm commitment to the development of sustainable tourism,” Hernández stated. She also stressed the need for sector-wide unity to navigate current economic volatility: “In a scenario marked by global tensions and market fluctuations, cooperation among public, private sectors, and tourism communicators is critical to maintaining the stability of visitor flow.”
Hernández praised Tourism Minister David Collado for his strategic focus on market diversification and reinforcing the Dominican Republic’s leadership in the Caribbean.
BTC President Luis Felipe Aquino, who led the opening ceremony, highlighted the fair’s role in promoting the country’s diverse tourism offerings and strengthening regional ties. The BTC 2025, running until October 25, features over 100 exhibitors, underscoring the essential role of tourism journalism in uniting the industry with international markets and society.
