Dajabón launches its first ecotourism guide

Dajabón.- The Legislative Management Office of Representative Daritza Zapata and the Dajabón Tourism Cluster have unveiled the province’s first official tourist guide, a publication designed to showcase the natural, cultural, gastronomic, and community richness of this Dominican border region. The initiative aims to position Dajabón as an authentic and sustainable destination that celebrates its local identity and inclusive development.

Representative Daritza Zapata highlighted that the guide reflects the spirit of the province—its people, landscapes, and community strength—while aligning with a broader legislative and institutional strategy to promote territorial development. She emphasized that from Congress, efforts are underway to secure legal and financial support to ensure Dajabón’s growth and visibility on the national tourism agenda. The guide complements previous initiatives such as the “Dajabón Vívelo” ecotourism fair, which promotes the region’s environmental and cultural potential.

The guide features ecological routes, protected areas, cultural and historical landmarks, rural accommodations, restaurants, and community projects that encourage responsible tourism and biodiversity conservation. Among the highlighted attractions are the Maguaca Waterfall, El Pomar Spa, El Aguacate River, the Honey Route, the El Edén Ecological Project, and the Maní Cassava Factory—destinations that embody community participation and support the local economy.
