Minister Collado calls entrepreneurs “warriors” at Santiago fair
Santiago de los Caballeros.- The ninth edition of the Emprendedores 2025 fair officially began this Wednesday in Santiago, bringing together dozens of innovative projects and key business leaders from the country’s northern region. The opening ceremony was led by David Collado, President of the Entrepreneurs Fair, alongside prominent executives Ligia Bonetti and José Clase, marking a significant event for the Dominican Republic’s ecosystem of young talent.
Collado, who is also the Minister of Tourism, used the platform to deliver a powerful motivational message to the participants. “From here, the first Santiago of the Americas, I reiterate my call to the youth, to those entrepreneurs, not to give up on your efforts, to fight for your dreams every day,” Collado stated. He emphasized the persistence required to overcome obstacles, declaring simply: “To be an entrepreneur is to be a warrior.”
The two-day fair is designed as a dynamic platform that unites universities, private companies, and public institutions committed to strengthening the entrepreneurial community. During the event, dozens of innovative projects will compete for the José Luis Corripio Estrada award, a prestigious honor recognizing the creativity, sustainability, and potential for growth among new Dominican ventures.
The event received strong endorsement from the business community. Businessman José Clase emphasized the significance of the event, stating they were inaugurating a “fair of opportunities,” not just entrepreneurs. Ligia Bonetti, CEO of Sociedad Industrial Dominicana, reinforced the message of discipline, reminding attendees that “only by working and sacrificing ourselves can goals be achieved,” echoing the theme of the “warrior” spirit needed to succeed.
On the eve of the activity, the fair’s organization recognized three industry titans: José Luis “Pepín” Corripio Estrada, Frank Rainieri, and Ligia Bonetti, for their contributions to the nation’s economic and social development. Collado confirmed that these three business leaders represent the highest values of perseverance and innovation, adding that “Their legacy is a source of inspiration for thousands of young Dominicans who today decide to undertake and bet on their land.”
