David Collado launches “Discover Paradise” platform in Colombia

Colombia.- Tourism Minister David Collado launched the new promotional platform Discover Paradise to reinforce the Dominican Republic’s position as the preferred vacation spot for Latin American travelers. Speaking in Colombia, Collado emphasized that the goal is not just to market a destination, but to showcase the Dominican Republic’s culture, gastronomy, traditions, and overall experience.

The initiative targets major tour operators and travel agencies from Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Collado highlighted the strengths and new offerings of key Dominican destinations such as Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Samaná, La Romana, Miches, and Punta Cana.

Media outlets and digital platforms specializing in tourism also participated in the event, which featured immersive activities designed to highlight Dominican cultural richness. Attendees took part in artistic sessions inspired by the Colonial City, rum tastings, workshops on Taíno heritage through casabe-making, and silent disco dance classes focused on merengue and bachata.
