Dominican-0rigin Eléonore Caroit seeks re-election as French representative

Eléonore Caroit, a Frenchwoman of Dominican descent, is seeking re-election as a deputy in the French National Assembly.

Caroit, who was first elected in 2022 and re-elected in 2023 after the Constitutional Council annulled the initial election due to issues with electronic voting codes in Argentina, is once again running for re-election under the centrist alliance led by French President Emmanuel Macron.

In a digital flyer, Caroit outlines her intentions to maintain her current position. “After the dissolution of the National Assembly, I am once again a candidate in the legislative elections for the French citizens of Latin America and the Caribbean on June 29 and July 6, 2024,” she states in the flyer, which features a QR code in the lower right corner that links to a magazine about Caroit.

The deputy also shares details about her personal life, professional background, and academic qualifications.

Eléonore was born in France and is the daughter of French journalist and correspondent Jean-Michel Caroit and Dominican lawyer Carmen Amelia Cedeño.
