Celebrating the 6th meeting of Dominicans in Spain

Pamplona, Spain.- Pamplona, the capital of Navarra and a key stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, hosted the 6th Meeting of Dominicans in Spain on September 21 and 22. This event, held annually since 2018, featured a range of cultural and folkloric activities, including a tour of the famous San Fermín festival, artistic performances, tributes, and sporting events.

The gathering aimed not only to celebrate Dominican identity and culture but also to build supportive networks among Dominicans abroad. Organized by the Cultural and Social Association “De La Mano Con La Patria,” the event promotes unity and collaboration within the diaspora. This year’s event focused on the María Trinidad Sánchez province, highlighting its ecotourism potential, agricultural wealth, and natural resources, while also aiming to attract foreign investment. Cultural performances included folk dancing by Learnethe Paulino and Katia Ayala, dressed in traditional costumes representing the Dominican flag. Although a scheduled softball match between local teams was canceled due to rain, participants received uniforms donated by the Institute of Dominicans Abroad (INDEX), underscoring the commitment to promoting sports and community engagement.
