Pope Francis calls on IAPA to ‘fight the sin of misinformation’
Vatican.- Pope Francis delivered a strong message to the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA) on its 80th anniversary, urging the fight against misinformation. In a video address, he emphasized the media’s significant power over the masses, noting that it can both benefit and harm society. He encouraged the press to remain faithful to the truth and contribute to peace, dignity, and solidarity, particularly in protecting the vulnerable.
The Pope also warned about the dangers of misinformation fueled by technological advances and artificial intelligence, which can incite wars and spread hate. He called on the media to foster social dialogue to combat this issue.
