Dominican Embassy in Honduras opens Cultural and Tourism Hall

Honduras.- The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Honduras has launched the Permanent Cultural and Tourism Hall, titled “Get to Know the Dominican Republic.” This new space is dedicated to showcasing the Caribbean nation’s cultural heritage and tourism offerings. The initiative aims to deepen cultural, tourism, and commercial ties between the Dominican Republic and Honduras.
During the inauguration, Ambassador Luis Bienvenido García Mercado highlighted the hall’s role in fostering bilateral cooperation. He emphasized the Dominican Republic’s commitment to collaborating with the Honduran government, private sector, civil society, and media to promote mutual development. García Mercado also praised President Luis Abinader’s foreign policy vision, which prioritizes culture, tourism, and foreign investment, and expressed gratitude to Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez Gil for his support.
The exhibition features iconic elements of Dominican identity, including traditional rum, tobacco, and colorful carnival costumes, alongside displays of major tourist attractions from each province. The event drew significant media attention and provided a platform for visitors to share personal experiences from their travels to the Dominican Republic.
