Trump bans Haitian nationals from entering U.S.

Washington, D.C.- US President Donald Trump has issued a travel ban on immigrants from 12 countries, including Haiti, citing national security concerns. The ban also imposes partial entry restrictions on citizens from seven additional nations, such as Cuba and Venezuela. The executive order targets countries deemed to have inadequate screening processes, posing a high risk to the United States.

The affected countries under the full ban are Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Partial restrictions apply to Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. Trump emphasized that safe and reliable screening is essential to national security, pointing to recent violent incidents and visa overstays as evidence of risks posed by insufficient vetting.

In a statement on the White House’s social media platform, Trump criticized current immigration policies, blaming former President Joe Biden’s “open-door” approach for allowing millions of undocumented immigrants to reside in the US.

The U.S. bans them, and we are considering regulating them. Our country is a laughingstock.

US is banning them with good reason. For the same reasons DR needs to continue removing them with total force and forethought.
