Bronx Dominican Parade shootings: authorities investigate after four wounded

New York.- New York City Police Department (NYPD) authorities are actively investigating three separate shooting incidents that left at least four people injured Sunday evening near the route of the Dominican Parade in the Bronx. The violence, occurring just after the celebratory event, adds to a concerning pattern of post-gathering disturbances in the city.

The gunfire erupted shortly after the festive parade concluded, sending a wave of panic through attendees still in the vicinity of Grand Concourse, the parade’s main thoroughfare. One incident, occurring around 7:00 PM, left a 19-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her ankle and a male of the same age shot in the neck, near the intersection of East 170th Street and Sheridan Avenue.

Approximately 40 minutes prior to that incident, another shooting was reported near Elliot Place and Grand Concourse, where a 24-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound. In addition to the shootings, police indicated that a person was injured in a separate stabbing incident in the same area, though further details regarding that victim have not been released.

As of Monday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with any of the violent occurrences. The NYPD stated that all incidents remain under thorough investigation to clarify the events and determine if they are interconnected or if there was any direct link to the parade celebrations. Authorities urged members of the community to come forward with any information that could assist in their ongoing inquiry.
