Ex Antinarcotics chief faces wife battery charges December 26

Santo Domingo. – A National District judge scheduled a hearing for December 26 in the case against former National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) president Ivan Peña Castillo, charged with beating his wife Thelcemary Georgina Mejía.

Fifth Instruction Court judge Ileana Perez will set bail as the prosecution requested.

Peña and Mejia have been married for 14 years, and have three boys ages 7, 9 and 12.
