Clear skies nationwide, rough surf along north coast continue

SANTO DOMINGO. – The National Meteorology Office (ONAMET) issued an advisory Wednesday of higher than normal surge along the Atlantic coast and forecasts widely scattered showers for the north part of the country.

It said those conditions will continue during the next few days, but with slightly decreasing rains in that zone.

ONAMET said the surf along the north and northeast coasts is still dangerous, and advises small craft to remain in port, and not venture outside Samaná Bay. It cautions residents in low lying coastal zones to be on the alert for possible flooding and for swimmers to take precaution in the beaches.

It forecasts seasonably mild temperatures will continue during the evening and morning hours, from the northeast wind prevailing this time of the year.
