President Luis Abinader meets with Pope Francis in private audience

Rome.- President Luis Abinader arrived at 9:05 AM local time in Rome for a private audience with Pope Francis.

President Abinader was accompanied by his wife, Raquel Arbaje, and their daughters, Esther, Graciela, and Adriana. Also in attendance were Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs José Julio Gómez; Dominican ambassador to the Holy See, Luis Montalvo Arseno; Director of State Ceremonial, Ambassador Francisco Cantizano; his assistant Mercedes Pichardo; and invited journalists.

The president and his entourage were received by the procession of Gentiles, men of His Holiness, including Monsignor Leonardo Sapienza, Regent of the Prefecture of the Pontifical Household, and the head of Protocol, Monsignor Javier Fernández G.
