Former Israeli Consul in the Dominican Republic shares testimony after Iran’s missile attack

Avia Levi, former Deputy Chief of Mission and former Israeli Consul in the Dominican Republic, shared a harrowing account following Iran’s recent missile attack on Israel, which involved the launch of 181 ballistic missiles. Levi recounted how she took shelter with her dog for over an hour, relying on a transistor radio for updates due to a lack of internet. Despite the chaos, her priority was her pet’s safety, stating, “I didn’t have time to put on shoes, I preferred to put my dog’s shoes on.”

The attack targeted several cities, including Jerusalem, and was among the most intense in recent weeks. Levi also expressed sorrow for the victims in Tel Aviv, where two Palestinian terrorists killed civilians just minutes before the missile barrage began. “I say this with a broken heart for my brothers in Tel Aviv who were killed today,” she stated.

Amidst the turmoil, Levi emphasized her gratitude for Israel’s advanced defense systems and her faith in divine protection: “Thanks to our air defense system and thanks to God, we are safe.” The incident has heightened international concern as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate.

Think of a missile defense system as an umbrella. It will stop most of the rain, but a few drops may seep through.

God Bless Israel!
