Punta Catalina Unit 1 reintegrated into national electrical system

Santo Domingo.- The Punta Catalina Generating Company (Egepc) announced that Unit 1 of the Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Power Plant has been successfully reintegrated into the Interconnected Electrical System following corrective maintenance for multiple punctures in the boiler. This reinstatement ensures efficient and continuous electricity generation, bolstering the country’s energy supply.

Egepc noted that the unit had been temporarily offline for the planned maintenance work and expressed gratitude to citizens for their understanding during this time. The company emphasized its commitment to providing reliable and quality electricity generation, which is crucial for the Dominican Republic’s economic and social development.

The return of the Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Power Plant to full operation is expected to enhance the stability of the national electrical system, reinforcing its status as one of the country’s key generating facilities.
