Raquel Peña to coordinate aid for rain-affected families in Samaná

Samaná.- Vice President Raquel Peña will travel to Samaná to assess and address the needs of families affected by recent heavy rains. Her visit reflects the government’s commitment to providing swift and effective responses to weather-related emergencies that threaten public safety.

Peña will meet with local authorities to initiate assistance programs and ensure government support, under President Luis Abinader’s leadership, reaches the most affected communities. Key damages in Samaná include the collapse of the Las Galeras highway, landslides, and widespread flooding.

The Vice President’s agenda includes visiting at least two of the hardest-hit areas to evaluate the situation and coordinate relief efforts.
