CEPM and Bávaro Adventure Park launch solar energy project for sustainable tourism

Punta Cana.- The Punta Cana – Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM) and Bávaro Adventure Park have inaugurated a 208 kWp photovoltaic system, advancing sustainability efforts in the region. This project will meet 98.5% of the park’s energy needs, reducing its carbon footprint and reinforcing the area’s position as a zero-emission tourist destination.

CEPM General Manager Oscar San Martín highlighted the initiative as a step toward decarbonizing the tourism sector, while Bávaro Adventure Park’s Director of Operations, Emmanuel Gilbert, emphasized the park’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility. The park integrates sustainability into its operations through waste reduction, biodegradable materials, and biodiversity preservation.

This project aligns with CEPM’s broader goal of carbon neutrality in the eastern Dominican Republic, as part of its CEPM Zero initiative. The company operates 37 solar parks with a 270 MWp capacity, including collaborations with 21 international hotel chains, reinforcing the region’s leadership in renewable energy and responsible tourism.
