Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic’s Road Traffic Authority (RD Vial) issued a public alert on Wednesday, warning citizens about fraudulent messages impersonating the institution. These deceptive communications, mainly sent via SMS and email, report alleged traffic violations and include links to fake websites designed to steal personal and confidential information.

RD Vial clarified that it never requests personal or banking information through unauthorized channels. Official communications are only issued through its website (www.rdvial.gob.do), verified social media accounts, and emails ending in @rdvial.gob.do.

Citizens are urged not to click on suspicious links, to avoid sharing sensitive data, and to report any digital scam attempts using the institution’s official platforms. The statement ends with a call to action: “Let’s protect your digital security together,” reaffirming RD Vial’s commitment to cybersecurity and transparency.
