President Abinader to attend launch of Global Alliance for Biodiversity in Guyana

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader is set to travel to Georgetown, Guyana, on Wednesday to take part in the official launch of the Global Alliance for Biodiversity, a new international initiative aimed at tackling the global environmental and climate crisis.

The inauguration ceremony will take place from July 23 to 25 in the Guyanese capital. According to official sources, President Abinader will represent the Dominican Republic and highlight the country’s growing leadership in biodiversity conservation as a key driver of well-being, resilience, and sustainable economic growth.

The Global Alliance will bring together a wide range of actors, including government leaders, international organizations, private companies, academic institutions, indigenous and local communities, and civil society. Their joint mission is to develop concrete and measurable solutions that promote the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity as a core pillar of global development.
