Authorities intervene to stop illegal occupation in Ozama Wetlands
Santo Domingo.- In a joint operation on Wednesday, the Ministry of the Environment, the National Environmental Protection Service (SENPA), and the Specialized Attorney General’s Office for Environmental Defense intervened in the Ozama Wetlands to stop ongoing environmental damage caused by illegal occupation and construction.
As part of the operation, authorities demolished unauthorized structures, evicted illegal settlers, and removed landfill materials that were harming the natural ecosystem. The effort aims to preserve and restore the ecological integrity of this vital wetland area.
