Panamanian business mission to visit the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.- Panama will send its largest business delegation in over a decade to the Dominican Republic on August 20–21, aiming to strengthen commercial ties and explore new business opportunities. The mission, involving over 30 companies, will focus on sectors such as food and beverages, construction, logistics, manufacturing, and pet food.
The initiative is part of Panama’s broader strategy to expand its presence in the Caribbean. In 2023, Panama exported $143 million to the Dominican Republic and imported US$43.3 million. The business roundtables seek to create strategic alliances and promote sustainable trade between both nations.
Panama’s Ministry of Commerce highlighted the importance of the Dominican Republic as a key regional partner, and noted that the country is part of a targeted effort to engage the Caribbean market, which includes previous trade missions to Jamaica, Aruba, and Puerto Rico.
