Prostitution invades the Caribbean Coast residential area
The motel is located on the 30 de Mayo Highway, Malecón, Km. 9, near the corner of Juan A. Vicioso Street and Alexis Monegro Street.
Residents of the Costa Caribe neighborhood in the National District have been protesting the illegal construction of a motel for three years. Despite its ban, this motel has generated a high flow of prostitutes and violence in the area.
The building is located on the 30 de Mayo Highway, Malecón, Km. 9, almost at the corner of Juan A. Vicioso Street. It borders the back of a playground and some houses where residents of the area have reported on multiple occasions the scandals at all hours by women to police officers without obtaining any solutions.
“Well, everything is now permitted on the seawall, so motels can be built anywhere, and it’s very clear that this starts at kilometer 11 of the 30 de Mayo Highway,” he said.
His version was supported by José Luis Ravelo and the president of the community organization, Eddy Salazar, who have exhausted all appropriate avenues to ensure the safety of the area and its residents.
Another factor that aggravates the matter is how the slum has taken over the place of another motel located on a corner of the building, further affecting the image and development of works by the Mayor’s Office, and calling on Mayor Carolina Mejía to act.
Drug use and violence are also among the area’s ills. According to neighbors, a prostitute lives in house number 8, which remains desolate due to construction work and creates a state of unrest, breaking car windows at night and harassing families as they enter their homes.

What happened? I thought this project had been shut down.
Perhaps a more up-to-date photo would have been useful. I doubt anyone is occupying or using the one displayed, which is clearly under construction.
Tthat’s a recent photo. I’m guessing this has turned into a transsexual streetwalker area and they do the deed inside of the structure.
The other Hotel on the corner has been there for decades..
