Santo Domingo — The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that a tropical wave located over Puerto Rico will generate rain across the country this Saturday.

“In the morning, we will expect cloudy conditions accompanied by scattered showers in provinces in the east and northeast of the country, such as La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, and María Trinidad Sánchez,” Indomet said.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, the effects of the tropical wave will leave heavy downpours, thunderstorms and possible gusts of wind over towns in the provinces of Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Santo Domingo, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago, Peravia, Azua, Independencia, Bahoruco, Elías Piña, San Juan and Dajabón.

However, the agency indicated that temperatures will remain quite hot . Therefore, it urged the population to stay hydrated, wear lightweight, light-colored clothing, and avoid direct sunlight, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Temperatures

The minimum temperature will be between 22°C and 24°C and the maximum between 33°C and 35°C.
