Tintarella and Valtir propose pilot plan to improve road safety
Santo Domingo.- Tintarella and Valtir unveiled innovative road maintenance solutions aimed at improving road safety in the Dominican Republic, a concern that affects all citizens regardless of social or economic status. The companies emphasized the urgent need for action to reduce traffic accidents and protect lives.
Government officials, including National District Senator Omar Fernández and Santo Domingo Este Mayor Dío Astacio, praised the initiative, highlighting technologies like smart, crash-resistant barriers as timely innovations that could save lives and be applied across Latin America.
The companies proposed a pilot national road maintenance plan focusing on critical highways such as Duarte, Las Américas, Coral, Samaná, and the Southern Highway. The plan emphasizes performance-based contracts, international safety standards, transparency, and public education, positioning investment in road safety as a commitment to the country’s development and citizens’ well-being.















More promises to be unfulfilled!
Here’s a suggestion. Do something about all of these unlicensed, uninsured and unregistered scooters and motorcycles. They are the biggest traffic hazard in the country. Station officers at major intersections and ticket/seize these bikes.
