ADN and National Police clear informal vendors from Santo Domingo intersections
Santo Domingo.- The National District Mayor’s Office (ADN) and the National Police (PN) carried out a large-scale operation to remove window cleaners and street vendors from several of Santo Domingo’s busiest intersections. The initiative, led by the Directorate of Defense and Use of Public Spaces, headed by Lieutenant Colonel José Aníbal Sanz Melo, and the C-1 Police Department, under Lieutenant Colonel Johnny González, is part of an ongoing municipal policy to organize public spaces, ensure free transit, and improve citizen security.
The operation targeted key locations, including Av. John F. Kennedy with Máximo Gómez, 27th of February Avenue with Máximo Gómez Street, Abraham Lincoln Avenue with 27 de Febrero Street, Av. Winston Churchill with February 27, José Núñez de Cáceres Avenue, Sarasota Avenue, Maximo Gomez Avenue with Nicolas de Ovando, Leopoldo Navarro Avenue with San Martín, and Independence Avenue. Following the intervention, these areas are now largely cleared of informal vendors and window cleaners.
Authorities reported that only one informal vendor was detected and immediately removed. They emphasized that constant surveillance will continue to prevent the return of irregular activities.

It is a constant cycle. clear the vendors out, streets unobstructed for a while, vendors return, clear the vendors out…………..
