Representative Fiordaliza Estévez gives her version of the incident with Cusep agents in Puerto Plata.

Puerto Plata — PRM Deputy Fiordaliza Estévez published her account of the incident this Saturday, in which she was involved with agents of the Presidential Security Corps (CUSEP) in Altamira, Puerto Plata.

The honorable member asserted that President Luis Abinader’s security detail prevented her from participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the president, along with other local authorities, to inaugurate several projects in the municipality.

“The soldier, a lieutenant, pulled a female soldier towards me, and she jumped on me and caused these lacerations that I have here (on the right side) on my chest,” the legislator stated.

“I didn’t know that this type of conflict could arise over a project by the honorable president, who has come to give his best (in Puerto Plata) with many projects,” the lady added.

The PRM member lamented the incident. “I truly hope this doesn’t happen to any legislator who is reluctant to address the needs of their jurisdiction,” she concluded.

Regarding the incident, which was captured on several videos, the representative was seen confronting the officers, apparently attempting to enter a restricted area of the event.

The argument escalated into an exchange of blows on both sides.

So far, the Cusep has not commented on the matter.
