11th Ibero-American Legal Academies Congress coming to the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- The XI Congress of the Legal Academies of Ibero-America will be held in the Dominican Republic from October 24 to 25, with the participation of President Luis Abinader and Supreme Court President Henry Molina. The event gathers jurists and academics from across Latin America to discuss key issues in law and justice.

Convened by the Permanent Conference of Ibero-American Legal Academies and organized by the Dominican and Puerto Rican Academies of Jurisprudence with support from the National School of the Judiciary (ENJ), the Congress will address topics such as judicial efficiency, democracy, arbitration, and the application of artificial intelligence in law.

The academic program, presented by Flavio Darío Espinal, president of the Dominican Academy, includes four panels—“Judicial Efficiency and Democracy,” “Arbitration,” “Artificial Intelligence and the Legal Profession,” and “The Academic Agenda in the 21st Century”—and four thematic tables covering judicial independence, democracy, international relations post-war, and the challenges facing emerging legal professionals.

Supreme Court President Henry Molina will deliver the keynote address on judicial efficiency and democracy, examining regional advancements and challenges in justice administration and its impact on governance, economic development, and social stability. The Congress will feature jurists from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Spain, and Puerto Rico, including Silvia Carreño Coll, José Luis Seoane Spiegelberg, Francisco Javier Gaxiola Fernández, Manuel Ramón Herrera Carbuccia, and Rafael Vásquez Goico. The event will be broadcast live by Microjuris, Tirant Lo Blanch, and the YouTube channels of the National School of the Judiciary.
