Dominican Embassy holds Third EMBAJADOM-HN 2025 in Honduras

Tegucigalpa.- The Dominican Embassy in Honduras hosted the Third Business Meeting EMBAJADOM-HN 2025 under the theme “Export, Import, Investment, and Tourism,” bringing together government officials, business leaders, academics, students, and entrepreneurs from both countries to foster bilateral economic ties and investment opportunities.

Ambassador Luis García highlighted that trade between the Dominican Republic and Honduras grew significantly, reaching nearly US$937.7 million by May 2025, with year-over-year growth of 9.3%, and that direct Dominican investment in Honduras totaled US$6.7 million. He also noted progress in agreements facilitating Honduran exports like citrus and pork products, as well as increased confidence in Dominican investment.

The event featured high-level panels, business roundtables, and product showcases, emphasizing technology transfer, public-private partnerships, and best practices. Discussions covered export diversification, AI in customs, foreign investment policies, MSME participation in international markets, business sustainability, tourism, and e-commerce opportunities.

Key participants included Honduran and Dominican customs and economic officials, as well as representatives from business chambers and development organizations. Special remarks by Honduras’ Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Javier Bu Soto, and Fedecámara president Manuel Hernández praised the embassy’s role in fostering economic synergy and collaboration.

Coordinated with the Dominican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prodominicana, and the General Directorate of Customs, the meeting reinforced the commitment of both nations to economic cooperation, innovation, talent development, and sustainable growth, projecting a shared vision for strengthened bilateral relations.
