Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic will host the first International Congress on Cultural Innovation, positioning the country as a regional hub for dialogue on the digital transformation of the cultural and creative sectors. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 11, at the Catalonia Hotel in Santo Domingo, bringing together artists, cultural managers, entrepreneurs, academics, technologists, and policymakers.
Framed within the National Development Strategy 2030, the Digital Agenda 2030, and the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the congress will focus on innovation, sustainability, and cultural inclusion. Discussions will center on the digital cultural economy, including topics such as content monetization, sustainable business models for creative industries, and the challenges of expanding and internationalizing cultural production from the Caribbean and Latin America.
The event’s program will be structured around five key themes: digital cultural economy, public policies for digital transformation, heritage management and digital memory, creative entrepreneurship and innovation, and gamer culture and interactive narratives. According to the Ministry, the congress seeks to strengthen digital skills, promote equitable access to technology, protect cultural rights, and encourage reflection on cultural preservation in the digital era, fostering an ecosystem that connects local creativity to global cultural networks.
