X platform suffers major worldwide shutdown

This Tuesday, November 18 2025, millions of users worldwide experienced difficulties accessing X and several other services due to a major outage linked to Cloudflare’s network infrastructure. The disruption blocked the loading of posts, user interaction, and in some cases prevented login, as platforms relying on Cloudflare’s systems reported “Internal server error” messages.

Cloudflare described the incident as a global network issue impacting multiple customers, noting widespread “500 errors,” failures in its dashboard and API, and that it was investigating the cause and working to mitigate the situation. The problem was not limited to X — other platforms such as ChatGPT, Canva, gaming services like League of Legends, crypto-front ends, and even the outage-tracking site Downdetector (which itself uses Cloudflare) were affected.
