Los Manantiales elevated lanes open to ease access to Punta Cana Airport

Punta Cana.- The Puntacana Group announced that the lanes of the Los Manantiales overpass, now in its final stage of construction, have been opened to improve traffic flow around Punta Cana International Airport and nearby areas. The intersection had been closed since August 25, with a temporary detour in place for vehicles traveling from Punta Cana toward Bávaro. Lanes in both directions are open, while the passage beneath the overpass will reopen later this week once the newly installed traffic lights are synchronized.

The project is designed to ease congestion at the Los Manantiales junction, providing a safer and more efficient route for drivers and reducing travel times along the corridor. The Puntacana Group called on motorists to follow the instructions of DIGESETT agents and the Military and Police Commission (Comipol), who are managing traffic to ensure orderly and secure circulation.

The statement emphasized that the temporary detour was implemented to protect drivers and allow construction to advance efficiently. The company urged the public to take precautions, plan for travel time, and adhere to the guidance of traffic authorities while final adjustments to the overpass are completed.

These clowns haven’t a clue. I remember being told by the president that a new
“better educated” police force was the focus. It seems we have taken a giant step backwards when it comes to Digisett.

That issue aside, congratulations to Grupo Punta Cana for getting this project done in months…not decades, like it is with local and national government when it comes to Punta Cana.
