Dominican Republic president would win by a landslide: Poll

Santo Domingo.- DominicanRepublic´s ruling party (PLD) candidate president Danilo Medina would win his reelectionbid by more than 30 points over opposition PRM party rival Luis Abinader, accordingto a SIN- Mark Penn survey released Monday.

When asked if theelection were held today 57.3% of those polled said they’d vote for of Medina,to 27.4% for Abinader.

The survey found that 3.6%of those surveyed would vote for Al-Pais party candidate Guillermo Moreno; AmableAristy (PLR) 2.5%; Federico Antun (PRSC) 1.4%; Eduardo Estrella (DxC) 1.3%; andMinou Tavarez Mirabal Op-Dem, 0.7%.

The survey polled 1,000people from January 6 to 10, with a +-3.1% margin of error.

Runoff

In a potential runoff Medina´slead shrinks 25.3 points, but his preference percentage jumps to 61.2% comparedwith Abinader´s 35.9%.

Of the 36.3% who saidthey were independent 52.1% would vote for Medina compared with 25.3% forAbinader, the poll said.
