In a switch, dozens of Americans become Dominican citizens
Santo Domingo.- In a reversal of a decades-longmovement, US citizens living in the country have taken the oath to attain DominicanRepublic citizenship thus far this year, taking advantage of current agreementsbetween both nations.
The nationalized Americans are part of agroup of 664 US nationals who’ve regularized their status to remain onDominican soil.
Most of the US citizens nationalized asDominicans did so through marriage, while others choose the normal route ofsubmitting a request to the Presidency, which issues an Executive Order if theapplicant meets all requirements.
