Southwest to launch nonstop Kansas City–Punta Cana flights

Punta Cana.- Southwest Airlines announced it will begin nonstop flights between Kansas City International Airport and Punta Cana International Airport on March 7, 2026. The new route will provide travelers in the Midwest with direct access to one of the Dominican Republic’s most popular vacation destinations.

Melissa Cooper, director of the Kansas City Department of Aviation, noted that nearly 20,000 passengers are expected to travel between the two cities on various routes in 2024. She emphasized that the nonstop service will make trips more convenient, allowing vacationers to spend more time enjoying Punta Cana.
